9 Facts 'They' Don't Want You To Know About
Jimmy Moore
February 6, 2006

The following is a reprint from the blog "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb":

Borrowing a tactic from author and public health watchdog Kevin Trudeau, I'm gonna share with you nine undeniable and irrefutable facts about your health that "they" (defined as the media and the so-called health "experts") don't necessarily want you to know about. It's one of the reasons this recently released book was written, too, and why many more will be coming soon as the truth gets out there.

These simple, yet profound facts of life will surely get your mind to thinking about all the conventional wisdom we've been taught our entire lives about health, disease, nutrition, and diet. Keep an open mind about each of these points because they are all backed by plenty of scientific evidence that has been published in the world's most prestigious medical journals. If you don't believe me, then just look them up for yourself doing a quick Google search!

If you think you are ready, then soak up the truth in each of these facts as you read them:

FACT #1: There has not been a single tightly-controlled clinical trial that has produced any proof of a reduction in coronary heart disease mortality that can honestly be attributed to saturated fat restriction or cholesterol-lowering medications.

FACT #2: Long-term follow-up studies have shown that those with the lowest total cholesterol levels tend to live the shortest lives.

FACT #3: The alleged heart-healthy polyunsaturated vegetable oils have been linked to cancer and heart disease.

FACT #4: Cholesterol-lowering statin drugs have not been shown to provide any clear longevity benefit to women, the elderly, or men without heart disease.

FACT #5: Despite popular belief about Japanese people eating a low-fat diet for heart health, that country actually consumes the most saturated fat and yet have the lowest rates of stroke in the entire world.

FACT #6: There is no clinical evidence that eating more whole grains will reduce your risk of heart disease or colon cancer.

FACT #7: Vegetarians do not live longer than people eating a typical mixed diet.

FACT #8: The much-heralded so-called healthy low-fat diets actually restrict your intake of important fat-soluble vitamins and essential fatty acids that are needed for optimal health.

FACT #9: Most nutritional information distributed by government health authorities today is specifically designed to benefit the vested financial interests of the American and global economy, not to protect health.

That last "fact" is the one that should bug you the most. There are literally millions upon millions of dollars being spent by food and drug industries who have a deep-seeded interest in keeping the status quo regarding the distribution of health information. While the studies and findings of supposedly "impartial, respectable" health groups are heralded as truth, the fact is they are bought and paid for by the lobbyists working behind the scenes to withhold essential truths about health from you. While this may sound like a looney conspiracy theory, I encourage you to check out these claims for yourself and see what conclusion you come to.

As long as money is involved in the equation (and it will continue to be into the foreseeable future!), nothing is gonna change. It is such a shame that money is the driving force behind so many of the recommendations we hear about these days regarding our health. Follow the money trail and you will see a long line of special interests tied to those who are supposed to be entrusted with preserving our health. Unfortunately, they are merely protecting their own pocketbooks instead.

If people start becoming skeptical about the information they are hearing from these alleged authorities in the field of health, then you will see them start shaking in their boots of being caught in their "cat and mouse" game with public health.

My hope and prayer is that they are found out sooner rather than later. So the next time you hear a claim on television or in the newspaper about your health, be cautious and check it out for yourself. We can no longer simply rely on what they tell us is true.
