The ACLU Has Met Its Match
Jimmy Moore
August 22, 2002

For decades, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has pushed their agenda on unsuspecting Americans under the guise of civil liberties. They have been unchallenged as they have led a relentless attack on marriage and religious freedoms, among other things.

That's all about to change, though!

The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF), ( http://www.alliancedefensefund.org ), has established a movement called the National Campaign to Stop the American Civil Liberties Union.

Led by ADF President and General Counsel Alan Sears, the mission of this movement is to raise millions of dollars to prevent the ACLU and its allies from causing further harm to the way of life enjoyed by those of us who believe in the traditional role of the family.

The funds raised by the ADF will be used to help attorneys litigate cases, train attorneys on the best tactics for defeating the ACLU and to strategize and coordinate the efforts of other groups who are opposed to the ACLU and its allies.

The ACLU has become increasingly aggressive in their effort to win special legal rights for people who engage in homosexual behavior, including defending their right to "marry."

The highly-publicized liberal civil liberties group is threatening to bring a lawsuit in Nebraska in an effort to nullify a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages. Despite the fact that this amendment was overwhelmingly approved by the voters of Nebraska, the ACLU is convinced this is in the best interest of the people of Nebraska. (Could it be that the ACLU is telling the voters of Nebraska that they are too stupid to know what is good for them?!)

Additionally, the ACLU recently attempted to force our neighbor, the state of Georgia, to recognize gay "civil unions" as a full-fledged marriage. Thanks to the work of the ADF, though, this measure failed.

And in California, where just about anything goes (especially in San Francisco!), the ACLU made a major push to give homosexual partners the same benefits and protections as traditional married couples. Again, thanks to the ADF, it was defeated.

Finally, in Kansas, the ACLU was supportive of a case that would have allowed a "transgendered" individual to redefine marriage there. The ADF was instrumental in preventing this from happening.

Despite these losses, the ACLU will not give up. However, the ADF has vowed to fight the ACLU for the sake of saving America. They feel it is their duty as Christians in America to challenge the extreme anti-Christian agenda that the ACLU is forcing on Americans.

The ADF is confident that the ACLU can and will be stopped. They trust that God will protect them as they take their battles to the American courtrooms. Backed by notable Christian leaders such as Dr. James Dobson, Dr. Bill Bright, Larry Burkett, Dr. D. James Kennedy, Marlin Maddoux and others since 1994, the ADF is in a position to make a real difference for the sake of Christian families concerned about the out-of-control actions of the ACLU in recent years.

The ADF has won nearly 75% of the more than 210 cases that have been litigated in the courtroom. These victories have helped protect family values, religious freedom and the sanctity of human life. Included in the victory total are 21 wins in the U.S. Supreme Court.

ADF was involved in a record 8 cases in the U.S. Supreme Court's 1999-2000 term, which amounted to almost one out of every 10 cases it heard! Four of those cases set national precedents which can be used in future cases.

The work of the ADF has only just begun, though. The damage done by the ACLU includes:

- Removing the Ten Commandments from public places in our cities
- Stopping children from publicly praying in schools
- Preventing Christians from sharing the Gospel in various places
- Defending child pornography
- Defending the rights of homosexuals as superior to those of heterosexuals
- Brainwashing children into thinking that same-sex marriage is normal

This list goes on and on. One thing is certain: The ACLU has met its match. The ADF has become a formidable opponent to the once invulnerable ACLU.
