Spinx: making life easier for Upstate motorists & Katrina victims
Benj Buck
September 2, 2005
Stewart Spinx, founder of Spinx Oil Company, takes serious his vision of "[giving] customers what they want... FASTER and EASIER!" The Spinx stations began with one store in the early 70's, and after thirty years in the business and significant growth Spinx maintains that vision.
As some report having paid $100 per fill up, and gas stations run short on gas, Spinx commits to Upstate motorists his desire to lend a hand during troubled times. In the wake of the '05 FUEL FRINZY, the Spinx homepage states, "The Spinx Company, Inc. commits to operate at a Zero Profit Margin on all gasoline sales and merchandise sales from Monday, August 29, 2005 through Sunday, September 12, 2005." Spinx assures that any profit made during this time period will be donated to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief.
As many look for places to find fuel in the Upstate and many look for relief in the gulf, one place sings, "We are Spinx, and we're making life easier!"
