Michael Covington, deputy director at the DOT, has spent some of his time taking creative jabs at Gov. Mark Sanford. Will Folks,
Sanford spokesman told Greenville News, “If a taxpayer-paid lobbyist at DOT wants to try and make something personal, that’s obviously not something we’ve got control over.”
Covington said that this isn’t his first parody. In reference to his most recent parodies Covington said, “It’s a long tradition.”
