AG To Expand Internet Predator Task Force

June 29, 2005
Columbia, S.C. June 28, 2005 Attorney General Henry McMaster, Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright and Seventh Circuit Solicitor Trey Gowdy will hold a news conference on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. to announce that the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office has joined the State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) to combat Internet Predators.
Using the Internet predator law he pushed through the General Assembly last year, McMaster and the ICAC task force have aggressively investigated and prosecuted child cyber enticement cases. The law makes it a crime to stalk, lure or entice a child for abduction or sexual assault.
