Gov. Sanford Announces Budget Hearings For Week

Columbia, S.C. - September 20, 2005 - Gov. Mark Sanford today announced the following budget hearings for this week:
On Wednesday (September 21, 2005) from 1:00 until 3:30 p.m., Gov. Sanford will hold a budget hearing on improving K-12 student performance. The hearing will take place in Columbia at the Statehouse complex (Wade Hampton Building, Governor's Conference Room). The hearing will include the Department of Education, First Steps, ETV and
the Education Oversight Commission.
On Thursday (September 22, 2005) from 9:30 a.m. until noon, Gov. Sanford will hold a budget hearing on improving the quality of our natural resources. The hearing will take place in Charleston at The Citadel's Bond Hall, room 295 (171 Moultrie Street, Charleston). The hearing will include the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Health and Environmental Control's environmental arm, the Department of Agriculture, the Forestry Commission, Clemson PSA, and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism's parks arm.
