UPDATE: Lowcountry Republican Breakfast
PRESS RELEASE
November 4, 2005

Contact Ron Turner, Chairman
(843) 814-1805 or

NOTICE:  Original Speaker Cancelled, New Speakers to replace original
speaker

The Lowcountry Conservative Republican Breakfast Club will hold its monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 12, at Kelly's BBQ restaurant on U.S. Highway 78, two miles south of the Berlin Myers Parkway, between Summerville and Ladson.

The breakfast meeting will feature a panel discussion of property taxes with the elected auditors from Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties, led by Johnette Connelly (R-Summerville), the Auditor of Dorchester County. With the recent discussion of property taxes at the state and local level, this timely discussion will help inform the public about how property taxes work, as well as the role Auditors play in taxes at the county level. Attendees will be allowed to participate in an "open mike" question-and-answer session with the auditors.

The Lowcountry Republican Breakfast Club meets every second Saturday morning monthly at this location, featuring speakers who discuss current issues of importance to the Lowcountry and South Carolina.  Past attendees have included Governor Mark Sanford, South Carolina Congressman Henry Brown, as well as local legislators and county officials.  A breakfast buffet will be served for $6.50, and the meetings are always open to the public, regardless of political affiliation.

PLEASE NOTE:  General Thomas Carter, the intended speaker, will not be able to speak at the Saturday meeting due to a death in the family.  The thoughts and prayers of the Breakfast Club membership are with General Carter and his family.

His appearance will be rescheduled for another meeting next year.
