Gov. Sanford Announces Events for Upcoming Week

Columbia, S.C. - July 29, 2005 - Gov. Mark Sanford today announced the
following events scheduled for the coming week (August 1-5, 2005): 

Monday morning (August 1, 2005) at 8:45 a.m., the governor will welcome attendees to the annual Conference of Chief Justices and Conference of State Court Administrators. This national conference of top judicial officials from across the country was last held in South Carolina in 1971. This year's conference will be held at Charleston Place Hotel (205 Meeting Street, Charleston) in the Magnolia and Willow rooms. Also on Monday, Gov. Sanford will at 1 p.m. address the Cheraw Rotary Club meeting at Sharecropper's Restaurant (315 Second Street, Cheraw).

On Tuesday (August 2, 2005) at 9:30 a.m., Gov. Sanford will hold the 29th Cabinet meeting of his administration at the Department of Social Services (1535 Confederate Avenue Extension, room 631) in Columbia. During the meeting, DSS Director Kim Aydlette will unveil a new child care proposal.

Next Wednesday morning (August 3, 2005) at 9:30 a.m., the governor will address the Columbia Golden K Kiwanis Meeting, which will be held at the Capital Senior Citizens Center at Maxcy Gregg Park (at Blossom Avenue and Pickens Street). Gov. Sanford will discuss a number of his legislative agenda items, including his Taxpayer Empowerment Amendment spending cap proposal.
