Erwin reacts to GOP Scream Contest
PRESS RELEASE
June 29, 2005

June 29, 2005

News Release - For Immediate Release
Contact: Lachlan McIntosh (803) 799-7798

South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Joe Erwin reacted today to the
Republican Party's 'Scream Contest'.

"This so-called 'contest' is childish.  Will Governor Sanford be bringing his pigs?  This should be beneath Sanford and the Republican Party, and I'm sure that many thoughtful Republicans would agree. Howard Dean is not the issue in South Carolina."

"The real issues that effect people's lives are jobs, healthcare and public education.  This latest stunt by Governor Sanford and the Republican Party hierarchy only reinforces the fact that they are losing touch with the people of South Carolina and are not dealing with the issues that matter."
