 Ralph Bristol :: Biography

Ralph Bristol is the host of the Ralph Bristol Show on WYRD/WORD, Greenville/Spartanburg, AM 1330 & 950. A nine-year resident of the upstate, he moved to Spartanburg from Quincy, Illinois in 1993. He was news director of WGEM-TV in Quincy. His 25-year broadcasting career includes reporter and anchor positions on radio and TV stations in Sikeston and Hannibal, MO; Quincy, IL and Greenville/Spartanburg, SC.

Ralph is a native of Valentine, Nebraska, a veteran of the US Air Force, and holds a BS degree in Radio and Television from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He taught a broadcasting course at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO while employed at WGEM-TV in Quincy and is a past chairman of the United Way of Hannibal, MO.

Ralph’s family ties include three stepchildren and six grandchildren from two bygone marriages, plus his mother, sister and brother. Only his mother and sister still live in his native Nebraska.
