It's over.
Jonathan Pait
May 31, 2002
The primary is over for me.
The plethora of sound bytes pouring from the radio washes over me with no affect at all--other than to annoy me. There must be an impact on South Carolina businesses during this season. Radio account representatives tell us “radio works.” If that is true then radio ads bring advertisers business. If all the ad time is being bought up by campaigns then normal businesses are missing out on exposure, which would then lead to fewer customers and fewer sales.
Funny, but I walked in there pretty confident about which chads were going to meet their demise. However, when I took that little stylus and started to aim for the hole.
I am kind of disappointed that I won’t be in the state on the day it all comes down. Then again, maybe I am glad. The good thing is that the hard part will be over. The family feud will be over and we join together to take on the real enemy. At least, I hope so.
