Greenville: Looking to help with Katrina evacuees?
Benj Buck
September 8, 2005
Greenville County began welcoming needy evacuees. Many have expressed a desire to help as up to 1,000 Katrina victims take shelter in the Expo Center. You can make a difference!
Most donation sites ask that no used clothes be brought, but could use numerous items including infant formula, hand soap, art supplies, blankets, and toiletries (a more complete list of needs). If you live near Greenville County, drop off donated items at the loading dock behind the buildings in County Square, which is located at 301 University Ridge.
The City of Greenville has established a phone line to assist the many good Samaritans; please be prepared to leave a message when you call 1.866.313.0081. When dialing, Pete would appreciate if you not forget to dial 1.866.
Remember, you can make a difference.
