Low-Carb Lifestyle Blog Created To Encourage And Educate
Jimmy Moore
April 22, 2005

Well, I started something on Thursday, April 21, 2005 that I am extremely excited about.  Since I have been writing about my 180-pound weight loss on Atkins in 2004 over the past few months, I have literally been inundated with e-mail after e-mail from people interested in learning more about what living a low-carb lifestyle is all about and how they can apply it to their lives.

As a result, I announced earlier this month in an article entitled "I'm Writing A Book" that I would be chronicling what I did to transform my body from the 410-pound morbidly obese individual I was into the 230-pound healthy thin man that I am today.  So far, my progress on the book has been coming along as scheduled (I'm currently finishing Chapter 2 and will begin Chapter 3 very soon) and I cannot wait for people to read it!  It is going to be informative, funny, encouraging and inspiring (at least that's my goal!).

And, by the way, I have already found a publisher for the book.  All they are waiting on now is for me to finish the book which I hope to have the rough manuscript to them by July.  I expect to release the book on Amazon.com and in brick and mortar stores in the Fall.

In the meantime, I decided that there needed to be an outlet for me to comment more often about low-carb on the Internet than I am currently able to do.  Oftentimes I have wanted to respond to negative media accounts regarding the low-carb lifestyle, but I just haven't had the time to write a full CommonVoice article about it.  Also, since CommonVoice tends to focus more on politics and government, I do not believe this is the forum for presenting these ideas (unless, of course, the government comes out with some ridiculous new health standard that needs to be addressed!).

For that reason and because I wanted a way to interact on the web with people trying to learn more about low-carb, I created a new blog entitled "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb" where you can learn about how I was able to lose weight and read commentary from me about the latest low-carb news.  This is an exciting venture for me because I have never done a blog before.  While I am not new to writing, the format is a little different than simply posting articles like I have on CommonVoice since 2001.

You will notice this new blog has been added to the Blog Pot on CommonVoice where you will see the updates to my blog.  Come on over and check it out from time to time just to see what's new.  I promise you I won't bite and you might even learn a few things about low-carb that you didn't know before.

My heart literally goes out to people who struggle with losing weight.  I have personally been there and know the heartache it brings to people desperate to get their weight problem under control.  It's not a fun place to be and I want to help people like that overcome their struggle any way that I can.

If you have a moment, drop by "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb" and post a comment.  I am always available to answer any questions from people about living the low-carb lifestyle.  My personal mission is to encourage and educate people about this amazing way to lose weight and keep it off permanently.  Hope to hear from you soon at my new blog!
